“Pretty even game until the last half of the 2nd half.

1st half the Techies were bottled up at mid-field and could not break through in the pouring rain. Eventually, the ball carrier was knocked down and the ball thrown deep into the Laserback's side of the pitch. Luckily for me, neither team had many players back there, and I was able to get more people to the ball to protect (and try in vain to pick up) the ball. A few lucky hits KO'd several Arkansas players going into the Half, and 3 of them did not recover.

2nd half, it's 11 Dwarvs vs 9 Laserbacks and the rain turns into a blizzard. The Arkansas players were able to make a decent wall and attempt an end-around on the Techies of Karak, but out new rivals felt the power of dwarven rune magic, as we called down a bolt of lightning on the BC and knocked him down, freeing up the ball. Junior rushes over and picks up the ball, lobbing a nice pass towards Thompson--but Bud Brooks intercepts the ball!!! Things are not looking good now. But Bud is not able to break free of Tim and then the Laserbacks seemed to loose faith as the momentum switched back to the Dwarves of Karak University. Junior finally secures the ball, gets it to All-American running back Thompson, who lobs a quick pass to Larry. Larry runs slowly towards the goal line with Thompson flanking him, while the rest of the team keeps the Arkansas players far, far away from threatening to take the ball away. I think the last 3 turns of the Laserbacks ended in double skulls (or double both down and they didn't have block), securing the 1st win of the season and the 1st win over our new rivals, the Laserbacks!
