Round 3 Final
Classic dwarf vs. elf matchup. Elves scored in 1st half and were able to drag it out long enough that dwarves couldn't counter-score. 2nd half started, then both teams took a 2 month <corrected> hiatus. Coming back to finish the game, the dwarves trudged down the field, removing lots of inkies in the process. The babe managed to bring all the dark elves back (took two tries), but a Blitz! guaranteed it would go to overtime. Dwarves won the toss amidst false allegations of coin tampering. With the wizard in hand, the Titans seemed confident of victory. But the Shame refused to give up and contested ground and the score every step of the way. Brilliant defensive play forced the wizard to come out before the dwarves were in scoring range. But it was a good wizard and it bought them time to regroup. Then the armor breaks started rolling in, along with some failed heroics by the Shame, and the dwarves were able to score in T8 of OT to seal the win and take home the inaugural Orca-Cola League Cup.
Great game, good luck in Season 2.
Epilogue: Corrected the length of the break, and also wanted to mention the passing of Elektron Bethea. In T16 of regulation, he was Piled Awn by Sphinx for the Dark Elves only CAS. The Apothecary was too busy flirting with the unnecessary Bloodweiser Babe to do anything about it. (Armor 11, Injury 11, CAS 12 apo'd into another 12). A page shall be added to the Tin Seam Book of Grudges for Bethea, though whether against the Sphinx or the Apothecary is unclear at this time.”
