“SLITHERPOOL DOUBLE-UP HONOR IS ALL WE KNOW 2-1

Slitherpool continued it's winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Honor Is All We Know (HIAWK) in the Lumburgh Cup. Slitherpool opened the match with a well timed blitz on their opening kickoff which forced the Elves to try to make play up the far sideline. LARS FREDERICKSON of HIAWK fumbled a handoff to JUNKIE MAN and Slitherpool jumped on the opportunity. QUIRKY picked up the ball and ran down to the endzone only to fumble the ball into the crowd. Luckly BENCHY, who is usually on the bench, jumped on the ball when it was tossed back on the field and carried it into the endzone.

In the second half LUCKY picked up the kickoff and was running in the normally effective Skink-T wall formation until LARS FREDERICKSON leaped over the wall of blockers and drop kicked LUCKY. Thankfully the newly acquired Apotho was able to keep LUCKY from serious injury. This time DUMPY, named team MVP for the match, was the skink to pick up another lose ball and find his way into the endzone for a 2-0 lead.

HIAWK would not concede defeat easily. Once again LARS FREDRICKSON made a tremendous play against the Slitherpool defensive wall by running up the sideline and leaping over the Lizards into the endzone to halve the deficit. However, that would be the last score of the game and Slitherpool reigned victorious 2-1 in the first Cup game to have more than one TD scored in it.

This win takes Slithpool three points clear to the top of the table in the Lumburgh Cup two matches into the competition.

DUMPY had his arm broken late in the second half. He is going to have a buckler surgically attached to his arm, which will protect him better in future games. However, the medical staff says he will need to miss the next game to heal for the procedure.
