“SLITHERPOOL FALL IN OFFENSIVE SHOWCASE 3-2 TO CORPSATRON REX

In their two match-ups this season Slitherpool and Corpsatron Rex had split a couple of lop-sided game. Corpsatron won their first match-up 3-1 and then Slitherpool took the second leg 4-1. In the Semi-final of the Lumburgh Cup the scoring would continue but this game was a close contest right until the final score. Corpsatron would get a pair of first half TD's from HAMBURGER TIME, who was noted league MVP by this publication. Those TD's were broken up with a Slitherpool TD from All-star LUCKY and the halftime score was 2-1.

In the second half Slitherpool would put together another strong drive with SCRUBBY handing the ball of to LUCKY who would dodge his way through the un-dead again to level the score at 2-2. As Corpsatron Rex got the ball again the accumulative damage they had done to Slitherpool, inflicting 3 casualties really took it's toll. Slitherpool's defense which hadn't been able to hold on the previous two drives was now missing two Saurus's and Desperate Remedy was again making some bone-head plays and looking lost on defense. HAMBURGER TIME was able to take the ball into the endzone for a third time completing the league 2nd hat trick and putting up the decisive score.

Corpsatron advances to the Lumburgh final and Slitherpool's season come to an end. Slitherpool's campaign was an entertaining one, with 14 TD's scored in 9 games but the defense wasn't good enough to take this team from entertaining to championship quality.

OTHER NOTES:

14 TD's were scored in the three matches between Slitherpool and Corpsatron Rex this season with each team scoring seven.
