FUMBBL Cup XIV Round 2:

Definitely a wild game! We received and managed a quick 2 turn score hoping to come up with a defensive stop as we felt our only chance to win was to score on D. With our opponent having a 4s Blodged pestigor and the ability to cover him up, we felt our best chance was an early wizard. The wizard was not very effective, and in hindsight we used it way too early without reasonable opportunity to take advantage of it.

But, we played solid defence in the first half. In particular, we connected on two very hard fouls, knocking out the beast AND a nurgle warrior both non-regenerated, that was absolutely huge. The bribe came in handy keeping our lineman in the game -- we would need every body we could get!

Eventually, we managed a 2 BD tackle hit on the ball carrier, knocking him down. We managed to surround the ball at the end of our turn and by next turn. On turn 5, we managed to pickup the ball and run with it deep in our opponents zone. But on turn 6, he managed to sack the ball carrier, but left the ball on the ground. After some 2BD hits, all we needed was a 2+ picked non-RRed for a 2-0 lead into the half, but we missed it. Thankfully, our opponent was unable to add a late miracle score.

We entered halftime down in players, but managed to delay an opposing team score until t15. Without great KO rolls, we were given the opportunity to OTT for the win. Objectively, I felt that my opponent made a tactical error at this point. Instead of loading up around the line of scrimmage to prevent my ability to chain push (and to throw in plenty of disturbing presence), he elected to put 3 rotters on the LOS and covered up the entire back row.

This led perfectly into our hands. A quick snap certainly helped, but our grab treeman along with our remaining players managed to push our 5ag wardancer to within scoring range without needing any GFIs. We were able to easily complete a pass to him (thankfully it wasn't intercepted...)... Then he easily dodged away, leaped over 2 players without tackle and dodged away into the end zone for the OTT and the walk-off T16 TD win!

Key to the game:
- 2 early fouling casualties gave us a chance
- Apoth-ing the BH on our catcher put us in a position where we had enough personnel to land the OTT
- Defensively, we managed to delay long enough to force a T15 score
- The quick snap + setup allowed us a good opportunity to OTT and we cashed in
