“FUMBBL Smack Scheduled - Brawl VIII Round 1:

This was a wild game in the end! We had a pretty slow first half, as the dwarves received and eventually marched down and scored. The second half was all ours... Our guys started hitting hard, a couple mummy pile-ons lead to casualties and put ourselves in a good position for OT, as we added a late score.

Overtime was wild. The Dwarves received, but were down in players 10 to 7. We did a good job of bottling them up, causing them to double back a couple of times before we finally landed a hit on the ball carrier. He withstood it and fended us away, forcing some tough dodges on our part to keep him in check (go 4 ag!).

Suddenly the Dwarves woke up and knocked a few Undeads off the pitch, including a 1BD badly hurt mummy. This shifted the balance of power to a more even one, which probably favoured the dwarves as they had control of the ball in our zone.

However, a no RR skull by the dwarves allowed us a 2 BD wrestle+tackle hit on the ball carrier, bringing him to the ground, but the ball bounced out of bounds and was thrown in by the crowd on the opposite side of the field. It was unfortunate since a better bounce could have put us in a position to mount a last turn score.

It was looking like we would end OT in a draw when suddenly the 1 agility 6 movement troll slayer scooped up the ball without a RR and managed to put himself in scoring range.

With no RRs, our only chance was a dodge (away from tackle) and a 1 BD hit with our wrestle+tackle ghoul... Well, Nuffle decided to favour us at just the right time, successfully dodging and knocking down the troll slayer to end OT in a draw, where we thankfully won the coin toss and get to move forward!”
