Nuffle had a sense of humour though, despite our terrible armour, our opponent snake-eyed an easy dodge early on, leading to a great scoring chance for us on defence. This allowed us to take a 1-0 lead. On the opening drive, our opponent suffered two snake eyes and two RR into double skulls or block/skulls (no block -> injuring our beast).
Things could have been alot worse for our opponent, however, by first, on turn 8, attempting a -2BD hit while leaving the ball carrier exposed while I had a runner in scoring position. He managed to get a double pow... But then he attmepted a 7+ pass which he fumbled, giving me the opportunity to scoop the ball and score. I managed to clear out the opponents and recover a bouncing ball (luckily). I dodge out, and complete a pass to my player in scoring position only to fail the gfi as I was about to score. Silly Nuffle...
Nuffle decided to make matters even more difficult on me by not letting any KOs back and stealing 3 RRs from me. Playing with no RRs, we had to be extremely careful. Thankfully, one of our rotters somehow managed to catch the kick-off. We managed to be able to lock up most of the saurus long enough to protect him and flank him down the sidelines.
The brutality continued with an RIPed Crewbottle, winner of Season 1's Bronze award for "best blocker". We then had 2 turns back to back ending with a missed handoff followed by a missed pickup attempt which kept the ball on the ground deep in opponent territory preventing easy scores.
Our opponent decided to attempt a 1BD non-block-skill block with the ball on the ground and players stunned. Thankfully he rolled block/skull RR block/skull, giving us yet another chance to close out the game. But, once again, we failed the ball pickup.
Obviously, the skink picks it up without a RR in a TZ and runs off. We get a 3-BD hit on him but cannot bring him down. Then, by some miracle, instead of attempting 1 dodge and running off for unpreventable game-tying TD, our opponent decided to attempt 2 dodges (in one TZ and then out of it), thankfully, nuffle decided to make him fail the second dodge, which was fitting. The failed dodge sealed our victory. Definitely one of the weirdest games I've ever played.”
