Gilgorod's Tribe met the High Elves of Rompe Corazones beefed up with a wizard, a bloodweiser babe and a dirty trick. That trick turned out to be explosive runes and would cause some havoc in the first half. Upon receiving the elves broke through and managed a relatively fast touchdown for the 1-0 lead. The Orcs still had 5 turns to equalize, but what a surprise at the kick-off when the opposing thrower transformed into a bombardier all of a sudden! The chaotic bombs complicated our offensive drive and we even lost the ball as a consequence of an explosion blowing our cage apart. However, we were a bit lucky when an opposing catcher killed himself on a failed going for it after having picked up the ball. The ball bounced into the hands of a lineman, but we managed to get it back the next turn. Pedroas decided to keep his wizard for the second half though, so we had a shot at the equalizer after a succesful 3+ dodge for a blitz to push a blitzer out of the way and another 3+ dodge to succesfully run the ball in. With a troll and two stand firm black orcs on the line chances for a one-turner were close to zero.
The opposing elves still had an 11-player squad for the second half. With the ball landing on the line at the kick-off we were afraid of an all-or-nothing fireball ruining our offensive drive. The wizard didn't cast yet, so we had some time to advance and grind the opposition down. When the fireball finally landed, 3 out of 5 players went down, excluding the ball carrier. But the cage was broken once more, leaving the ball carrier open for a 2d blitz. However, Nuffle was with the Orcs on this one, since even 4d didn't suffice to kick the ball loose. After that the High Elves started losing player after player and we stalled until turn 8 to run in the 2-1 final score.
Thanks for the game and well played Pedroas! Better dice next time!”
