Zed didn't realize what Witch's Brew did to his player (really stupid on the guy who caught the Kickoff) and wasted 3 turns failing to move (no one next to him)---this was the game changer
1st half was a Textbook example of how not to play against Halflings with dwarves. after the 1st turn took 3 flings off the pitch and knocked down a tree, the dwarves could do no wrong. From over pursuing to knocking trees down that had rooted themselves. Just not a good half at all for KAMU. Even the KO rolls at the end were bad, as both of my KO's stayed in the box while all 4 flings recovered. So, it was 9 dwarves vs 11 flings (13 really).
2nd half the Witch's Brew was played, giving K "spare some change ?" Really stupid and Zed must have thought it was Bonehead--ended up not moving for 3 turns (didn't help that "K" caught the kickoff). Compounding that, both Trees rooted and I DIDN't knock them down this time (I did learn--at least for now). Then a double skull rr double skull (well skull,pow/skull rr pow/skull, skull) meant a fling went down, while my longbeard stayed on the pitch. Flings started falling like, well flings as well. K desperately made a dash for the EZ, but I had kept my runner back (didn't over persue--see I did learn at least for this game) and was able to knock him down and secure the ball. However, I was 18 squares from the EZ and only had 3 turns to score with a MV of 6, so it was not a sure thing. Flash was able to survive the 3 turns and score to send the game into OT.
This time, my 2 KO's came back, while only one of his 4 did so. Add in all the BH'd flings and it was now 10 dwarves on 7 flings
OT the Techies get the ball and push through for the TD eventually. Made some mistakes on the way (selecting POW/SKULL instead of Push/POW on his long fling with block--because he had Side Step and I forgot he had block). Plus the ball was knocked out a couple of times on the way, but it was deep in fling territory and had the dwarf power to recover. Both passes were completed on this drive. On the last turn (when I scored) I had to block Zed to get him away from the ball, and ended up killing him...other than that all casualties were BH.
Junior scores and gets Guard, while Johnathan goes wild with 4 casualties and gets Dauntless. Buy Terminator (an new blitzer)
If it is any consolation, Zed, BattleLore's Nurgle team Excellence of Execution! will most likely cripple this team. (4 MB+CL+PO in addition to 3 MB+CL + one more MB. Plus only one less guard than me...ugh I'm not looking forward to that) ”
