Pretty standard Dwarf vs Elf game..at least it wasn't a rout.
1st half the High Elves fail a dodge early in the 2nd turn, after having set up a 2-turn score nicely, giving the Dwarves an opportunity to possibly stop them. Big Rick even helps out by SI'ing a Line Elf, then knocking the ball carrier down after the failed dodge. But, from there out, the Elves don't fail any more dodges in the drive, while the Dwarves can't even GFI. They score on turn 4 though, leaving 5 turns for the dwarves to score. However, a deep kick and more elves not failing rolls (though they had to make quite a few) leave Flash having to Dodge and GFI 2 times on turn 8 to tie up the game..he failed the dodge.
2nd half, needing 2 scores to win, the Techies push ahead as fast as they can and score on turn 4 them selves. The Elves are down to 9 players now, and quickly lose another. Things are going good, but a 1db opens a hole up and their BC gets seemingly out of range. Pulling a push my player one square closer so he can blitz, I manage to push the Ball carrier out of Bounds with a 1db after 2 GFI's. The ball ends up next to 2 of my dwarves around mid-field...but then I realize that my closest player to the EZ is 8 squares away and with a MV of 5 (and agility 2) can't score as I only have one turn left. The Elves have 2, but are severely out numbered by this point (I think 7 or 8 to 11 ) and and KO by a Catcher close to the EZ on a dodge made it even worse. Then I'm able to stun the only other player that could score and the Tie is assured. Had a few more blocks to make, and of course I roll double skulls..and the player is KO'd (my last turn anyway). (all is good though as earlier one of the elves had rolled double skulls rr double skulls)
Pretty good match with both teams having the chance to win it at different times if only some rolls had worked (or not worked). ”
