Then, in the second half, things took a turn. One of the Red Corsair players went against his coaches wishes early. This misstep completely changed the match, as the Red Corsairs struggled to find any success against the Vamps defense. In the end, Muse swept up the ball, within a crowd of stunned elves, and proceeded to trot into the end zone unopposed as the elves stumbled over themselves.
Towards the end, it appeared that the elves had given up on the ball, and turned their attention to Manson, who, for the 2nd straight game, failed to score a single casualty needed to learn the skill of Jump-Up.
Mike Patton was awarded MVP for orchestrating the teams first touchdown, by handing it to The Pretty Reckless, who had just reached TD range the turn before (in part due to a helpful push from the opposing defense, that moved her one square closer to the end zone).
Honorable mention goes to Blitzkid, who overpowered the Corsairs "Black Siren" on an attempted block, and managed to puncture one of her lungs, leaving her unable to return to the match (twas but a minor wound, however, and with rest, she would be able to play again in the team's following match)
Finally, BlutEngel showed off his fouling skills early, killing the opposing Dirty Player on turn 1. Before the game, he had been quoted as saying, "I'm the dirtiest son of a bitch around, and I'll prove it as soon as I get on the field. That Mihiolet, or whatever his name is, he's just a poser, pretending to be a dedicated fouler." Rumor has it, he later went down to Georgia, where the devil challenged him to a fiddle contest and lost.
Good game Swiss. You took some terrible dice with great humility and candor. Look forward to the rematch”
