“Road to the NAF Championship 2016 round 5

Went about like a Dwarf Vs Halfing game should go--though it could have been a tie or a loss for the dwarves with just one or two rolls going differently.

1st half started out good, as 3 flings were off the pitch quickly. I had control of the ball and relatively safe, so I had the DR spend a couple of turns Fouling Bertha..KO'ing her on the 2nd foul. So, I went ahead and scored on turn 4. A perfect defense allowed me to put the Tree in 3 TZ's, but the ball went out of bounds and with a RR, the Shirehawks were able to get a TTM score in on their turn 4. The rest of the half was just me bashing on flings, so much so that there were only 7 left to field for the 2nd half (of 14). I did fail to catch a pass that would have allowed me to score.

2nd half was tighter than it should have been for the dwarves, with 11 on 7. But a double skull early in a turn--when my Runner with the ball was in the TZ of their Tree!--almost killed any chance for me scoring, because the tree not only knocked Flash down, but Hurt him!. A blocker going down with a stun, and it looked real grim. However, I was able to get the ball into the hands of another blocker (it bounced to him). But Bertha showed her worth by dodging away and stunning him with a blitz. Still, I was wearing the flings down and Junior got to the ball with enough time to score if I didn't get knocked down. So, we spent another couple of fouls on Bertha..knocking her out again (but at least one thown out I think). By the time I scored, only the tree was left on the pitch.

2/1/2 in the tourney so far. Hopefully I can pull out the win next game to have at least a winning record in the tourney :)
