On balance of play, Nielsh and his lizards Lame to Fame were deserved winners. The game, though, was somewhat overshadowed by an early misclick. On my first turn, I tried to set up a blitz on a saurus, only to discover I'd misclicked on blitz as part of the moves. That set up the block that knocked out one of my best players, and arguably the most important one (+ST, guard, grab, stand firm) and he never returned. It was a deficit I never quite overcame.
The first half was competitive but, without the positional strength, I eventually had to abandon trying to stop the touchdown. Scoring 2 casualties helped, but with the grabbing blitzer missing I couldn't attempted the one turn score.
The second half was where it fell apart. I failed to score a knockdown in the first turn, and had a number of players tied up. The second turn was even worse, as not only were there 0 knockdowns but Monk frenzied into a skull/push. With mounting knockouts and casualties, and lacking guard and strength, I became more reliant on Nuffle for help and he didn't deliver. I never really got any kind of fortune and a fumbled pass by Jim sealed the Devils' fate.
Fun-ish game. The misclick ruined it somewhat. (There really should be something that can be done about that.)”
