The second iteration of the Casualty Cup saw two new teams walking out of the tunnel, each having beaten their league's prior finalist on the way.

The Anglo-Amazonian ladies brought a fearsome reputation having out-cas'd every opponent they'd faced, including orcs, nurglers and even ogres. Fortunately their most celebrated killer was watching this match from her hospital bed while the chaos dwarves had a lot of pent-up rage from their cas-free NSL Final. Anticipating a free-flowing contest, or at least a contest in which the blood would flow freely, the little fellas had brought their full medical staff with them on the trip south. A second doctor, a couple of attractive young nurses and a mysterious chap in a pointy hat who promised he could work magic on the sidelines.

The ladies won the toss and opted to receive. Their defence was perfect and their first block of the half removed a hobgob. Their last block of the half did too but in between it was all dwarf as they pow'd their way to an easy opening score.

The Amazon star catcher sat out the second half with a broken jaw but the rest of the team stuck together with their five guarders side by side and the ball held safely deep. The dwarves managed some casualties, but it was never going to be enough against a team of 15 and after the amazons scored easily they were still able to field eleven. This left the dwarves just three turns for a winner.

When the ball was kicked really deep the dwarves knew they had no chance and huddled up to prepare for extra time. The girls won the toss and with nine of them taking the field the dwarves were up against it. They were helped out dramatically by a second "blitz", but failed to make the most of it when a snake wrapped itself around Víðarr Askr's unsure hooves. The chap in the pointy hat was deployed early and knocked the ball loose, but it was still in easy reach of multiple ladies with ag4. A couple of turns of all the 2+ and 3+ rolls succeeding and it was all over. The SSL retain the Casualty Cup.
