Now that we've lulled the other teams into a false sense of security, it's time to show what being the greatest goblins the SWL has ever seen really means.
Taking a tip from last game, we gave them the ball and then Thieving took it back. Intimidation testing their mettle. Dirty Pool handled the scatter well, and Thieving took it once more.
The next scatter was less clean, Blue Suede Shoes handily tearing up the whole idea of tackle zones along with the rest of the elves to cage the ball deep in our territory. Corruption threatened, but couldn't make the blitz.
Kickbacks to Corruption, after the score we looked solid despite some mass stupidity, Blue Suede Shoes once again showing us the error of our ways. Typical elves, we never even moved, they scored before we knew what had hit us, and the weapons were all ruled out. The first three at least.
Still, we had so much time to score, it took real effort for Nepotism and Kickbacks to disguise the "let's not score" play.
Something happened to the Blue Suede shoes at half time. First he "failed to take down" Kickbacks, then "failed to dodge" Fraud and "was stunned". A likely story, we decided to help it along, Dirty Pool first seeing to Elvis Presley.
Bribery played the clown, laying down before Suspicious Minds, who was more hurt than he let on by the big boy, expiring immediately after as he went dodging for the ball. Dirty Pool next seeing off that annoying Blue Suede Shoes. Imagining a win, we let Nepotism score.
2 Trolls, 9 goblins. 4 Elves. Those are better odds, even with them having the ball. Rocks took a troll, Dirty Pool seeing to Falling In Love With You, the ref signalling he'd done enough.
Fearing the blitz, feeling the pressure the elves pitched the ball clear into space. Kickbacks simply pitched it back, and Secrecy was there to score. Sidestep and trolls on the line, there was no time for them to win. Tie game.
{Handy tip, Do step on those Blue Suede Shoes, the fourth weapon}
Prev. Game 3, Tuco Noriega Regional, SWL Season 64. 0/1/2. 1 Kill. Next.”
