“Ulthuan Invitational XII: main draw: round 1:

The Witch's Brew special card and the wizard's fireball proved essential in the early phase of the game. After having opted to kick rather than receive in the first half, the Feathers managed to strip the ball (which was not held by the surehands beastman who suffered from really stupid for a stunning three turns in a row!) after the fireball blew the cage open. Despite losing the ball after a snake on a gfi a few turns later, we recovered it again (in the rain) and managed to score 1-0.

Perfect defense on the subsequent kick-off ruined the opposition's drive completely. After a failed pick-up and a perfect scatter, the elves stole the ball again and ran in a second touchdown for the 2-0 score at halftime.

In the second half the elves received and scored an easy two-turner for the safe 3-0 score. We then opted to let Chaos come and allow them the 3-1, as long as our guys were safe. But then they failed a gfi with the ballcarrier after having used the team reroll on the blitz. So we recovered the ball - again - and fixed the score at a final 4-0.

The Wandering Feathers had Nuffle on their side and push through to the second round of the Ulthuan Invitational. A squad of solid dwarfs await. That tacklespam will probably kill us, unless the scenario of this game repeats itself!
