After a great and "easy" match against the titleholder Dominik, my flings have to face the team who defeated Azure! And what a coach too, a well-known sage who looks for the perfection in every aspect of Bloodbowl. Yeah, a "wise guy" :P Hum...
Well. So we have to fight hard if we want to win. Dada just rolled +AG before the match. Not bad, even if I'd have prefered to get a tackler or something like that.
Thanks to that roll, Sage can hire more flings to face my team with a full roster.
+10k TV for us, I cannot refrain from spending 100k for a chef.
Sage wins the toss. Equal chefs, that's pretty fair.
I was a bit busy during the first turns with something else but tried my best to play well. When I'm finally released from that, I make a first mistake while blitzing on the sideline a DT+SS fling... Luckily, I get a pow and the fling is out!
My defense becomes stronger and Sage finally chooses to throw his Fling! Maybe too early, but it works. Then I have three turns to try to score, should be enough!
I brilliantly ruin my 7th turn with bad moves and a terrible cage, but Sage cannot get a 1d pow or pow/skull on my BC. He desperatly tries to snipe my BC with a TTM, but it was not close enough.
1-1
Chefs don't want to influence the match, again. Sounds good for me.
I build the cage around my trees, and Sage tries again to blitz my BC with his block+BT tree! this time it works, but I get a good bounce. I recover the ball, and try to wedge his trees while Flings argue with each other around trees. My block fling is a better BC than Bajer, but I have to blitz with him, that's risky. Luckily he never fails, and I can outnumber Sage flings. But then they are rebelling and hit harder. Turns and Flings fly away, I have to hurry.
I see a potential breach, with my DT's well placed, but one needs to be released thanks to the BT tree with some rolls. The turn is perfect, everything works, forcing Sage to laugh. And then... Afroman, his legendary fling, only have to dodge 2+ before a blitz, and snakes it... Game seems over.
I can easily stall until the end, and don't fall into the Zed's trap.
Hurrah!
Very lucky second half, and despite my mistakes in first half I can reach the final again.
Congrats to Sage, he couldn't have played better (or maybe stalling more in first half). My AG4/5's helped me a lot, as usual. I hope it will be enough to win the tournament again.
And congrats to Panda_ for his sublime foul to hurt Afroman and insure the win. Deserved MVP but... well... no big deal :)
