“This has to go down as one of the craziest matches I've ever played. The Eagles took somewhere around 5 casualties in the first 3 turns (plus KOs). With about 3 turns left of the first half, they had only 3 elves left on the pitch with the Undead team poised to score. Thankfully, one of those players was the ST4 blodge/tackling monstrosity Nova, who was in range of the ballcarrier. Suddenly, Nova is imbued with supernatural power - he majestically brings the carrier down with a tackle and collects the ball, whilst a catcher lurks within scoring distance. Fortunately for the Un-Dead Clan, the ghoul blitzes Nova back and gets a pow on 1 dice to bring him down; however, the following turn Nova manages to regain the ball and prevent the Undead team from scoring, doing just enough to end the half level at 0-0.

Second half, the High Elves receive with only 6 players left on the pitch. Not to be deterred, they dodge through a gap in their opponent's line and set up a loose cage, with the ballcarrier within scoring range. The dead ones assault the cage visciously, with all their might, leaving the ballcarrier (Mr. Magoo) surrounded. However, from somewhere he finds a flash of divine inspiration. He dodges and 1d blocks one of the ghouls, managing to find a pow to get him on the floor, then he dodges past a zombie defender and single-handedly runs it in for the score! 1-0!

The crowd goes absolutely bananas as the Undead team receive the ball. With 7 turns of the half still to play, they push forward hungrily, believing they can still get the win if they make a quick TD. The 6 brave elves try their best to hold them off, but there are simply too many and on turn 3 they break through and score the equalizer. 1-1!

With 5 turns left to play and only 6 elves, the Eagles knew they had to push forward, as trying to defend passively would only lead to certain defeat. They receive the ball and again manage to blitz a hole in the dead ones' line, to set a loose cage surrounding the ballcarrier, near the sideline. Again, the undead assault the cage and try to box Mr. Magoo in. However, this time, a timely blitz from Endar forces a hole just big enough for Mr. Magoo to slip through to find the endzone. 2-1!

Somehow, with only 6 elves for the entire second half, the Eagles have managed to take the lead again, with only 3 turns left to play! The Un-Dead Clan, knowing they have no time to lose if they are to save the draw, press forward again into the elves' half. The Eagles fight valiantly but, again, the dead ones are just too numerous and Kanye Wight runs in on turn 7 to equalize. 2-2!

With only 1 turn left to play and 6 elves, the Eagles knew there was no chance for the win; however, they could finish the game with their heads held high, knowing that they have made a herculean effort to overcome all odds to rescue a game that seemed lost from the jaws of defeat, against a great team.

This was an epic game and one that the bards of Valdimar will sing of for many years to come! Thanks to coolkojo for taking part in the craziness and we'll look forward to the next one! :)”
