#90 Ugroth Bolgrot – Pinched Nerve (MNG)
Pretty much what he said. Down that much TV to Dark Elves I knew going in my best real chance was to do a lot of damage and get a numbers advantage. Concentrated on doing so as much as I could, even at times at the expense of making the best possible cage. Didn't really get the dice I needed for the strategy to work, as the 2 +ST niggled blitzers brought their good armor to the match. Would have loved to go into this one with more even teams, but still congrats to spelledaren who played well and took advantage of the situations as they presented themselves. Good luck in the finals!

GLT High TR Qualifier final.

Giving up 550k of inducements can be painful, but Ripper often failed to get anyone knocked down on 3d, and even got KO'd when making a crucial block T7 - ending any chance the orcs had to equalise before half time.

The wizard hit it's mark, but it (as well as many fouls and knock downs) failed to penetrate the enchanted armour of the dark elves.

The game? We went right through the middle, fouling a black orc out of the game on T1. The orcs got the pressure on and we felt compelled to take the easy score on T3. Next drive got bogged down, the orcs didn't manage to gain any superiority in numbers, but played solidly enough that the elves couldn't take advantage and score. The chainsaw was out but did little.

Going into second we had 9 elves vs 12 orcs, the orcs to recieve and a wizard left. I felt somewhat confident, as my best players were still around. Going down to 8 and I felt we had to push our luck. Grumbledook dodged right into the cage and KO'd the thrower with the ball. Bounce was too hard to pick up. Goblin took the ball but Fizban dodged the (loose) cage and another KO! The ball once again bounced next to the orcs. Now the star blitzer Nomhuth took on the responsibility. The blitzed and they ran, but Christer jumped up, ran 9 squares and promptly knocked the ball loose agan, and again landing it next to three orcs.

The orcs felt compelled to fell SkiJunkie who was next to the ball, and used the wizard. They ran as hard as they could, needing to knock down Mr-Klipp to have a decent chance. 2d - rerolled - both down. The ball was stuck and the elves pounced, drew it out and Cloggy ran hard for a 2-0 victory.

Lots of things went my way. Orcs were down to 8 players in the end, so they never truly got a good upper hand in numbers. Another foul heavy game, but this time the ref was playing, sending 4 players out of the game.

Thanks for a good game!

Major ahead!
