Two heavy hitting, high TV teams squared off in the GLT XII High TV Qualy. The Orcs were very heavy, very well built, with Guard, Stand Firm, Mighty Blow and Tackle all around. All BoBs and even the Troll had Block. We were breaking in a new dorf on the LoS and Nanna's duties were taken over by Anu Skytyrant. Both dorfs performed well, but Enki got the CAS of the match - RIP'd the Legend Tamboth Teeth. I believe this is the first Legend I've ever killed, and he will be memorialized in my bio and the team's bio.
First half we started with our usual lackluster blocking until Enki opened things up. Can't remember if this was before or after the Wizard dropped their cage, but both actions contributed to stopping the score. 2nd half the orcs played some very tough defense, but we got some timely KOs and were just barely able to squeak the TD in. Orcs had plenty of time left and several cracks at a TTM TD but the troll kept fumbling the goblin. The last one sealed it as the goblin was stunned on T15. A few more blows were traded but nothing worse than a stun and the Taurses clinch their first major qualifier (and only my 2nd).
Thanks for a very competitive and fun game, Paddy. Last time I faced these boyz I didn't fare so well. Good luck in their next endeavor. I'll try to win it all for the High TV group.
Epilogue - I forgot to mention this was the first game of the tournament that the Taureses didn't have to go to OT. It was not first game we lost someone, though Uruk will be back after a short rest. But his leg will probably be missed in our next match.
