#8 Rasp – Dead (RIP)
Lustrian Challenge X Qualifier XIV: Round 1

This match was all about patience. Patiently plodding down the pitch towards the endzone. Patiently watching the rat ogre succumb to Wild Animal. Patiently kicking every downed rat. Watching patiently as the Skaven dodged here and there, making even the elves in attendance envious. Patiently dealing with the boos and jeers of the crowd. Being patient with calling forth the apothecary and instead allowing a black orc's death. The first half came to a close with the score tied at zero, thanks to the wizard's lightning bolt and Mug stumbling over his own two feet.

Second half, again patience, as the Skaven chose to score in two (not sure why they did that), and nearly crippled Mug, bar the apothecary's intervention. As we received the kick off, patience was needed to combat the failed block by a black orc which cost us both momentum and allowed Skaven to flood into our backfield. With the match hanging in the balance we patiently executed a run and gun pass to Glass as we crossed into Skaven side of the pitch with the ball in hand. We patiently eliminated a few more threats. We patently watched as the Skavens wrestled Glass to the pitch and ran in and collected the loose ball. We patiently listened to the opposing coach taunt us, as we marked the gutter runner holding the ball, and as said gutter runner tripped and fell attempting a simple dodge. After that we patiently walked the ball into the endzone to tie the match and send it into overtime.

The Skaven received the kick and immediately set up to score. We patently sent in all available orcs, managing a block against the gutter runner with the ball, but little more. The Skaven attempted a foolish block against Mug, as they watched in horror, the gutter runner crashed against Mug, and badly hurt themselves in the process. Patience prevailed, as we crushed the gutter runner holding the ball, leaving Mug free to retrieve the loose ball and make a dash for the endzone. The Skaven would have had a better chance of stopping Mug had one of their remaining gutter runners not chosen that particular time for failing a dodge attempt. We decided that a crippling foul was in order to help teach that gutter runner a lesson. Let's just say they'll be walking with a limp from now on. But of course the pesky rats did catch up with us, and nearly got their hands on the ball. In the end we simply chain pushed Mug out of their reach, as he hot dogged it into the endzone for the win.

A lot of drama for the opening round of a qualifier. Good game.
