“Half-Elves won the coin toss, opted to receive. We set up our standard "boat" defense, they played a strong northbound passing pocket. We set up to hurt them, they responded by throwing a Long Pass for a T2 touchdown. On the next drive, we started off by getting a casualty and getting the ball just out of blitzing range. They marked the ball, but we managed to get it into a semi-safe "pocket" of sorts, where only one Journeyman could attempt a 1d on the ball carrier. He tried, and skulled out. This gave us the breathing room to build a cage and throw a lot of blocks, quickly yielding two more Casualties. They managed to pop the ball, but one of my knights caught it, and all they could do was force him to dodge to safety, which he did. One of the Half Elf linemen got ejected fouling, and we walked it in on turn 7. The last turn, the Half-Elves skulled out. The second half was 11-on-7, and while the half elves made good sport of it, attacking the ball 3 or 4 times, they just couldn't play the numbers game, and we outblocked them badly. At the end there were 4 prone elves on the pitch. We were able to spend 4 turns playing pitch and catch while all this was happening.

My first impression of this roster was that it looks a little OP. My first match seems to jive with this impression.”
