“We got out-gunned and out-maneuvered. We didn't have our Incarnate for this match, and we could have used his strength and reliability in the second half. We lost the coin toss and ended up kicking first. They set up a strong northbound drive, pinning down our Earth Elementals as much as possible, and taking out two of our four faster players (in fact, they killed Salamander Alpestris). With only two mobile players we simply weren't able to get in front of their cage, and they got a turn 6 TD. We didn't really have either the speed or the dice to score in three turns; we made an effort at it, but failed a critical GFI on turn 7. The second half was a fail-fest, as we turned over repeatedly, letting two Half-Orcs into our backfield. We managed to get the ball away and clear for a late TD pass to equalize, but the pass was fumbled and that was that. 0-1 loss, record 9-2-3.”
