Our chef was top form for this match - stealing all the skaven RRs - but it quickly looked sour as the skaven got a blitz and we were on our heels. Dwarf Killer is the new ballcarrier with all our legend and ST 3 halflings having been killed off. Dwarf Killer did a good job of recovering the ball and just making it to a weak screen of halflings - fending off a 2d blitz and then we were starting to click. Aidan took root a bit beyond the midpoint of the field, but then on the critical turn, we took out the annoying rat ogre (he was apothed) - without the rat ogre's strength on the field, we gang fouled a few players and suddenly the skaven were down to just 4 rats left. On the final turn of the half, we blocked the wrestle/stripball gutter runner twice to surf him and the crowd did the rest - ending his life. With the score, it was a perfect half. 1-0 and the skaven only had 6 players left to field against our full squad.

It was too much for the rats as they limped off the field conceding the day to the halflings! Ale and cake for everyone! Onwards to round 2!”
