1860 started on offense. Witch Elf Stephanie Hain and Blitzer Rubin Okotie rushed forward over the wings, leaving AG5 balling wizard Daniel Adlung behind for the pass. The Blijdorp monkeys backed up, leaving only a few Gorrillas on the LoS. The elves responded by surrounding and smacking up the gorillas and the silverback/team captain Bokito. They better should not have... The apes reacted futiously and encircled the bunch of elves on the LoS leaving them nowhere to go. Daniel Adlung backed away but the Blijdorp chimps rushed forward and wrestled the ball loose. What then followed was a several turn long struggle for the ball in which both sides had chances to escape with it. Finally, Daniel Adlung fumbled the long pass (we later found out why...) and bonobo Bonaventure Kalou could sneak away with the ball and score a defensive TD.
The second half consisted mainly of a big scrum near the LoS, in which the elves went agressively into manmarking and the gorillas had troubles shaking them off. In the process, gorilla Willem van Hanegem III got surfed and suffered the 6th -MA injury of the team. Just a few more matches like this and we'll be even slower than dwarves... In turn 6 the Blijdorp could no longer stall and scored via a short pass from AG4 orangutan Pierre van Hooijdonk on chimp Gabor Babos. Babos made his 2nd touchdown of the season. 2-0 ahead with 4 turns to go...
The final 4 turns of the match 1860 München was their usual (s)elf again and showed why they were invincible thus far. An easy two turn score by Witch Elf Stephanie Hain and a Blitz! kick-off result in turn 7 almost brought them the 2-2 draw, but AG5 balling wizard Daniel Adlung tripped over his own shoelaces when making the last GFI before the winning pass (We later found out why...). What an ending! 2-1 victory for Blijdorp. The first loss of 1860 München ever, in 21 matches. Monkeys on the rise!
(Rumor has it that shortly after the match Daniel Adlung was given his bribe of 100 bananas and one hour of pleasure with the gorilla ladies, in return for his two fumbled passes. Spokesmen of neither team could confirm this gossip.)”
