“After a no-show by the White Wolfs, we take to the road and go North to Wolfenburg to play the Wolfskins. Weather has been bad all day, With rain pouring Down, but just as the game starts, the sky is blue again :) We start With the ball, and Hoffman manages to fumbble another pass. Combined with the fact that Ehrenfürst is KO'd and Art Monk fouls Max Blatt out of the game in the opening clashes, our drive comes to a grinding halt midfield. Our guys keeps coming off the Field in a steady stream, as both Kornfeld and Martin is KO'd, but an overeager Monk headbutts Hoffman and ends up on his back With a broken arm. Then Nico Krukenberg fails the pick up and the ball bounces out of our pocket, weak as it is... It is no sweat for LaVar Arrington to run in the first TD of the day for the Wolfskins.

With little less than half the half left, the Cascade needsto show some muscle. Almost before the Wolfskins has positioned themselves, the Cascade line pushes forward, and then the quarterbacks show off their skill; Dedekind picks up the ball and hands it off to Hoffman, who runs up and serves a beautiful pass into T.J's capable hands, and woosh, off he runs and skirts the Wolfskins formation and the TD is easily obtained. Wolfskins are not at all positioned to stop him!

Hoffman chucks his gloves up onto the bleachers, and the crowd goes Wild! When the home team functionaires and goblin watchmen has finally calmed the crowd enough to continue the game, first half is almost over. Wolfskins tries anyway, but when Portis is tripped and stunned trying to dodge Martin, and Garcon is stunned by Althoff's Piling On, Woilfskins has no one in scoring position and the half peters out.

The second half starts with a Pitch invasion, and four players, two on each team, are left stunned on the Field. Wolfskins have the ball, and bring it slowly forward on their left side. Turbin fails in his attempt to blitz Wolfskin quarterback Kirk Cousins, and suddenly Wolfskin players spill into the Cascade backfield. Desperate measures are not enough, and Cousins can run inthe second Wolfskin TD of the day. As a consolation prize, Martin seriously injures Garcon, and the Wolfskins are without catchers for the rest of the match (and the next...).

Lots of time for the Cascade to score, and they consider arranging another T.J. Graham show, but decides instead to advance slowly on their left side. Te Wolfskins put up a fierce resistance, though, and when Turbin fails another crucial blitz, Arrington can blitz the ballcarrier and steal the ball. He can't hold it for long though, as Turbin repairs his mistake with a solid blitz, and T.J. can go for the goal line, protected by Vic Ballard. Wolfskins refuse to give up, though, and fights tooth and nail on their own goal line. It seems as if they will suceed, when Theisman dodges away with the ball with only seconds to go, but in his triumph he fails to watch his step, stumbles and falls. And KO's himself... the ball is thrown in by the crowd, and there is just sufficient time for Hoffman to dodge away from his opponents, pick up the ball and throw a log pass to a free T.J. behind the goal line. TD cascade and 2-2, and there is not even enough time left to start anoter drive.

Best game so far by quarterback Hoffman gives him a well-deserved MVP, while rookie blitzer LaVar Arrington gets the MVP for the wolfskins, equally well deserved. Cascade should definitely be happy for this result, as they were looking to lose throughout most of the second half due to plucky defense by the Wolfskins. We look forward to meet this team home later in the season!
