The first half did not go according to plan, as the humans allowed the 6th turn score but were unable to score in 3 turns after Ovechkin double skulled a block in turn 7, forcing a desperation move in turn 8 that didn't even get off the ground.
In the second half, a pre-kickoff blitz put the human's under pressure. Fortunately, Rosario failed to catch the ball. On turn 2, Backstrom had to pull off a risky 4+ double dodge pick-up, but he pulled it off and passed the ball to the other side of the field where the human's had cleared all the opposition. Three vampires were caught behind the play, and Carlson fouled the fourth to take him out of the game. Oshie survived a blitz, and ran the ball in on turn 5 with only 4 opponents left on the field, giving the humans three turns to win (or lose) the game.
The final drive started 11-on-7, with 3 vamps. The Strigoi tried to quickly move the ball up the left side, but Rosario was surfed after a nice 4+ dodge-blitz by Ovechkin and the ball flew to the middle of the field. Morelli failed a GFI to pick up the loose ball, and Backstrom, who had stood up to Morelli's blitz, picked up the ball and fired a short pass to Holtby to win the game on the last turn.
