OUCH!!!!
1st half started badly for the Raiders, as Campbell failed his 1st (or 2nd) GFI and Rushing Machine grabbed the loose ball and tried to sweep around. Zar Naggund was able to stop that and turn them back the other direction, even getting the ball loose again, but Coach Meatball20 called for the hired wizard to knock down Campbell and the Machine were able to finally punch it in. Still, coach Xeterog was hopeful that Campbell would be able to score before the half. It was not to be, as Campbell spent 2 of the 3 turns before half failing to pick up the ball. At half time, there were 3 BH Raiers while the Rushing Machine tally was 1 SI and one Thrown out (mabye one BH)..any way, it there were only 10 Dwarves to face 11 humans for the 2nd half.
2nd Half the casualty counts continued to rise at an alarming rate. One notable one that didn't happen for 5 turns is that Helmut Wulf survived 5 turns before getting SI'd despite being targeted on 4 of those turns (one he was stunned). He managed to get one off the pitch and one stunned in his 3 blocks. Anyway, things were looking grim for the Chaos Dwarves. Half of the Zar Naggarund Blockers were now BH and the ball was on the wrong half of the pitch. Still, the Raiders pressed the ball and knocked it loose, leaving it on the ground and surrounded by many players from both sides. Braden Holtby felt confident and tried to pick up the ball to pass to a waiting teammate, but failed the 6+ pick up roll. Campbell was able to take advantage of this opportunity this time and picked up the ball and strolled down field for the tying TD on turn 8.
Somewhere in the mix, D. Smith 'won' the battle of big guys when he Killed Scott Stevens, the Rushing Machine's Ogre (the apothecary already had been used on Alex Overchkin early in the 1st half to save him from death).
no new skills for Zar Naggarund. On to the 2nd half.
