“My second tournament win on FUMBBL and a very crazy (and lucky) game against a top coach. First half we received and both sides fought hard to control the pitch, but the Amazons just managed to keep the ball out of reach of the dead ones. Some bad block dice for the Undead team allowed the zons to push down the side and, despite some rather poor positioning, they got the run of the dice and managed to score to make it 1-0 at the half.

Second half was simply an insane rollercoaster ride. After rolling a perfect defense, the zons tried a risky ploy to tie up the Undead team mid-pitch and leave the ballcarrier exposed. However, the Undead held their line and kept the zons at bay. Then, on about turn 3 or 4, the Amazons had a windfall of a turn, KO-ing a Mummy and taking out a zombie to leave the Undead looking a bit short-handed. The Undead pressed forward as best they could, knowing they had to push for the score; however, in doing so they left their ballcarrier Ghoul exposed to a 1D blitz by the Amazon tackler, who not only brought the ghoul down, but cas-ed him as well! Things were looking very good for the zons; however, the Undead fought back very well, picking up the ball with a Wight, who was within range to score with 2 gfis. However, the Undead team were out of rerolls and he failed the second one, spilling the ball next to the endzone. Things looked to be all over for the Undead, until one of the Amazon linewomen rolled some bad block dice to cause an early turnover!

The Undead team equalized to make it 1-1 and, with only 8 players on the pitch and 2 turns to score for the Amazons, it looked like the Undead would almost certainly clinch it in overtime. However, the fans decided that they were going to have something to say about that (speculation was rife after the game of Amazon involvement) and, just after the whistle blew to start the final 2 turns, they invaded the pitch and stunned practically the whole Undead team, leaving the zons untouched! The Undead fans were livid, with cries of 'foul play' and 'conspirocy!', as the Amazon team trotted the ball down the pitch to score the winner, almost unopposed. In public, the match officials promised that they would investigate the allegations of foul play; although, behind the scenes, bags of money and Amazon 'favours' were surely involved.

Thanks again for the game, Emphasy, and I'm sorry you had to lose like that. The game literally switched from side to side about 4 times in the last 4 turns, all because of crazy dice. Anyway, I'm sure we will meet again in another tourney sometime soon and you will be able to exact your revenge ;)”
