Last game I said I thought that was the matchup that would send the Tauruses home packing. This game I truly believed was the overdue justice for daring to advance so far in this tournament. After winning the fame and the coin toss, nuffle decided to have some fun with us in T1 by awarding a lot of pushes. But then he gave ENI a similarly ineffectual turn. Basicly, that's how most of the game went. If the Tauruses had a good turn, ENI would have at least a decent one. If the Tauruses struggled, ENI struggled. And vice versa. Still, with some good play and probably a bit more luck than we deserved, I managed to keep the ball away from Harad until T8, hanging onto my Wizard and 1 apo, and burning through all his rerolls. Then he permanently removed my LOS from the game, including permanently removing Shamash Lawsmasher from the team. However, we still had the wizard. I may not have used my 2nd apothecary wisely, but I took a chance on using the wizard and it paid off. Knocked down the ballcarrier and KO'd the bottom player in his 3 man cage. That meant I could reach the ball. And I did, tossing it out of bounds (uninentionally I assure you) and watching the crowd throw it even further into the ENI backfield. They managed to get to it, but Anu Skytyrant intercepted when the beastman tried to pass it upfield. A nearby Bull tried to blitz Anu free, but fell down when he thought Break Tackle meant Break Fall. No matter, as ENI could not drop Anu with 3 hits and 8 dice. Really. Hard to complain about a few snake eyes on dodges when I survived multiple multiple die hits. I joked about considering the Larson, but it was a lame joke (I'll pass on that, or rather, I won't pass on that). Told you it was lame. Anyway, the rest of the game was mostly repositioning, and both coaches failing die rolls every time they tried something important. The final two actions before the score were failed dodges so I just walked it in on T16 since I had no rerolls (and neither did Harad).
Not the result I was expecting, but I'll take it. The CAS line was not surprising, but I'll manage. I probably should have tried to save Enzu, and I'll have to think hard about whether to keep him now as the -AG really impacts the +MA. Still, saving an apo meant I could risk everyone still on the field to protect the ballcarrier so I don't regret it.
Thanks for the game, Harad. I'll be the first to say that dice had more impact on this than coaching, but you made me think the entire game and play to the very end. See you next time, and good luck til then.”
