“This was a close game and the first where the Children stopped showing off and started putting their playing where their mouth was. Alas, the rat's coated themselves with oil to make themselves slippery and, using this unfair advantage, managed to out maneuver the Children.
The game started promising with Kamille immediately Murdering a Linerat. Spike quickly took the ball and made good time running for the TD zone, only for some lucky rats to intercept him. The wind was not on the children's side as the ball scattered straight to the feet of an unopposed Gutter-Runner, who quickly out-paced all but Star Player Volfogg in it's own run for the TD line. A combination of quick thinking on Volfogg's part and the vermin's own oily hands prevented Turn 1 from scoring during the first half, but they would narrowly manage to reach the line during the second half of the game.
With only a couple of turns left, it was up to Spike and Kimiko to get the ball into the hands of a Minotaur in a mad dash to the finish. Unfortunately, after spending the game blocking rats, the Hobgoblins had oily hands themselves and struggled to pick up the ball. Spike eventually got into a passing position for Nono in the final minute of play, but fumbled the ball before Nono could put her secret ball-catching techniques to use.
As a final note, Star Fouler Kicker slept through the whole game after being knocked out cold early in the first half. Sari made a valiant attempt at filling his large shoes (the better to kick heads with), but was unjustly removed from play after a particularly effective kick to the head of a Gutter Runner. Not content to leave things to chance, the Rats then knocked out Kimiko as well when they heard her brag in half time that she would try to pick up the slack for missing Kicker.”
