“A close match on paper, but two of the Giants players pulled up sore with niggling injuries just before the match started to put them at an instant disadvantage. Then to start the game off, a Terrors fan threw a rock which KO'd their super-star catcher Pontus Jarenskog (107 SPP!) who didnot return to duty till the second half.

The Hellbringers must have been overconfident as their starting defence was pathetic and they allowed the Giants to score quickly (first block, double skulls, followed by skull/pow + skull, followed by a 1 for Troll's Very Stupid roll = 7% luck!!!).

On the Hellbringers first offensive drive, they quickly powered foward, flattening the Giants line of scrimmage and advanced the ball up the middle. The Hellbringers job was made easier when Giants Blitzer Jesper "Capitan" Pehrson injured himself on a block! (He got a Pushback which gave him a Guard TZ on my ball carrier, but he rerolled it and got a Skull instead).

From there, the Hellbringers advanced the ball up the pitch, trying desperately to get the ball to Chaos Dwarf Zithket who really needed something like scoring a TD to turn him from just an experienced player to a veteran. This almost cost them the TD as the Giants temporary recovered the ball, but there were just too many Hellbringers on the pitch and eventually Zithket got his TD, with the Giants finishing the half with one player injured and 5 knocked out!

In the second period, the Hellbringers powered forward again, dellivering a TD halway into the period, giving the Giants time to score again instead of stalling. A risky play, but the Hellbringers were confident that they could win 3-2 or 3-1 given the Giants were down so many players.

The Hellbringers almost regretted their decision immediately as Giants super-star catcher Pontus Jarenskog finally made it back onto the pitch and the Giants set themselves up to score on their offensive drive. However, the Hellbringers brought intense pressure on the Giants and forced the ball to be knocked loose despite a clever dump-off play. The Hellbringers then swooped forwards, recovered the ball and looked like scoring until an unlikely blitz on the Hellbringers ball carrier by a Giants catcher knocked the ball loose!

There was no time left for the Giants to score so they tried to send the ball too far for the Hellbringers to score a third TD but Hobgoblin Lahgog managed to make a stunning interception and run in his second TD for the match. 3-1 Hellbringers.

One of those games where almost nothing went right for my opponent. At least he got no SI or Deaths and got +1 FF out of the game! I got 2 skills, and one of the guys aged and got a niggling (at 16 SPP).
