Bob | Hello fans! Welcome to our tonight's broadcast of Das_Waterbowl. This is Bob Biford and besides me... |
Jim | ...sits Jim Johnson. Glad to have you here, Bob. Which game do we have for our spectators tonight? |
Bob | Howdy Jim! Tonight we bring you the top match from Ach Nein! Between the slightly deranged followers of the chaos gods and the pale skinned pointy-ears from Karond Kar. Both teams already have 2 wins but the Panthers' record doesn't show a loss so far while the Chaos Lords of Misrule lost 1-2 to Cheeseland Browns only last week. The Panthers haven't even conceeded a single touchdown yet. Taking into account that they are newcomers to the league this is pretty impressive, isn't it Jim?. |
Jim | You're right, Bob, you're right. Also pretty impressive is the Lords' Minotaur Axe. He has shown us his blocking skills for long now but lately he seems to have grown ugly long claws. I guess you all can imagine clearly what his intention is. |
Bob | Yes, and I am sure the Dark Elves from the North will try to keep a comfortable distance between themselves and the Mino. But lets not talk about the teams any longer! The Panthers won the toss, elected to kick (wonder if they won't regret that choice) and both teams already have aligned. |
Jim | And there the whistle sounds. The Lords' supreme offensive line starts to rampage through the Panthers' defensive formation. Oooooh – just-before-the-match-hired lineman Richard Hoteagle goes down. The block from Hawk clearly left its mark. He is out for the match for sure. |
Bob | And another Elf goes down and out, Jim! This time its Alexander Whitebrook who seems to be fed up with this game as Axe takes good aim and stomps over him. Those journeymen are just not reliable today. But Jim, what's that? Kaos tries to pick up the ball and can't control the tumbling leather. Even in a second attempt he misses it. |
Jim | The Panthers immediately realised their chance their, Bob. Malicemind rushes in and throws Beastman Thunder over and on the ball. It's still bouncing as Jeremiah Doomstar sneaks in, secures the ball right under Hawk's nose and dodges out of the Warrior's range. He passes the ball to Medana who runs the ball back to the Panthers' backfield where it our of reach for their opponents for now. On their left flank Erodion Sinistrys and Nalarvine Bloodfang are going for the Lords' backfield, Bob. |
Bob | But the Lords' do seem prepared well for that threat, Jim! At least Kane is, for sure! A crushing block sends Bloodfang to the ground. It seems to be a clear fatality, fans. That is not a pleasant view, if you are a Panthers' fan, that is. Bloodfang gets draged off the field. The Panthers' medical team is now examining his body... hey are raising their thumbs! Can you believe it, Jim? Bloodfang seems to be unscathed and ready for the next drive! |
Jim | Well, Bob – after THAT hit this is a surprise. But back now to the game. The Lords left several Panthers unattended and they are now making good use of it. Medana runs past Kaos and hands over the ball to Jeremiah Doomstar. He than makes his way deep into enemy territory as he penetrates into the Lords' backfield, protected by his teammates. Why on earth did the chaos followers left so many Elves unmarked? |
Bob | Perhaps you might ask them after the match, Jim? All of a sudden the momentum seemes to have turned to the Panthers. In a desperate attempt Hawk blitzes Lobotomia, fails to bring her down, and makes an attempt to dodge right beneath Doomstar. But the three Elves easily bring him down there and they run the ball further towards the endzone. Just before crossing the line Jeremiah stops, looks back and directs his team mates to protect him there. |
Jim | Good move by the Panther, it seems. The Lords are trying to block their way free to get in touch with doomstar but the Panthers' formation proves too strong. As the pressure on them increases they break free, run over to their left flank, taunt at the Lords and proceed to let the clock run down. |
Bob | Yeah, Jim. The Lords just don't seem to have a proper plan to at least force them to score early. But wait! Brian Hotbrook DOES have clue, Jim. He's crashing into Kouran Soulslicer horns ahead. The Panther goes down immediately, gets carried off the field and won't be back for this game. That was a hit, Jim! |
Jim | Exactly, Bob. That was the right spirit. If you can't reach the ball just beat your opponents up. Let's see if this does change the Elves' minds about stalling... |
Bob | Well, it doesn't look that way, Jim. They continue evading the Lords, protecting Doomstar who still has the ball. The Chaos followers now have them caged in the corner next to the endzone and finally Doomstar crosses the line, scores and flounces arround in the Lords' endzone, presenting the ball to his fans. Not sure if that is a good idea... |
Jim | Bob, I am sure the Dark Elves will pay for infuriating their opponents. Both teams are quickly lining up now for a very short drive at the end of the first half. The whistle sounds again and there you have it! Kane brings down Threepolar Vadrion and smashed his hand with his left hoove. Again – that's not a sight the Panthers' fans want to see... |
Bob | No, surely not. As the first half is over now, we have a few moments to bring you updates on the two seriously injured Panthers. Kouran Soulslicer has a damn serious concussion and due to the concussion protocol he will have to sit out the next match. He will remember that hit for long, I am sure, Jim! |
Jim | Exactly. Vadrion has a smashed hand and will most likely also have to miss his next game. |
Bob | Back to the game, Jim. Second half is starting right now! Only seven pales skinned Panthers are remaining to face the Lords' full squad. If I can trust my eyes their complexion has turned even paler if you compare it to the start of the match. Looking at the CAS and blocking stats this is quite understandable. |
Jim | Indeed, it is, Bob! The Panthers secure the ball deep in their own backfield and keep it out of the Lords' reach. They are now widely scatter all over their own half. It seems they try to lure their opponents into scattering and opening up some gaps, it seems. |
Bob | It doesn't need your tactical genious to recognise that, Jim. But will the Lords be able to see through their blood lust? |
Jim | Don't think so, Bob. See? Although they leave Hotbrook and Kane back in their backfield as emergency sweepers they opened up several gaps now as they madly rush after the ball. I see an arrogant smile in Bloodfangs face as she immediately recognises that fact and advances now with the ball, easilly dodging the block from Lightning. She attempts the long pass and Grottylightning catches it. Kane, one of the two sweepers the Lords left back tries to bring him down and is successful. |
Bob | That's what his job was, Jim. But Hotbrook fails to recover the ball and the Panthers are in a very good position now. With a perfectly positioned block Bloodfang freed up the ball as well as team mate Lobotomia. Lobotomia now grabs the ball and runs it into the Lords' endzone. With 2-0 the game seems decided now in favour of the guest team, doesn't it, Jim? |
Jim | Most likely, Bob, most likely. Don't want to ruin the tension for our spectators but it seems very very unlikely that the chaos followers will be able to score twice now with less than on quarter left. |
Bob | Indeed, Jim. Axe gets the ball right after the kick off but he doesn't seem to know what to do with it. In the end we see now some centerfield scrimmage without anything spectacular happening. In the end it is an uncontested 2-0 victory for the team from Karond Kar. |
Jim | Although the game started promising for the home team with some nasty blocks right from the start they were not able to make profit from their numerical advantage. In the end they have to acknowledge that their opponents had the better game plan tonight. The Panthers now lead Ach Nein! with a 3/0/0 record and 6/0 touchdowns. |
Bob | Next week they will welcome the Buckaneerz in Karond Kar, Jim. The Necromancer’s Broadcasting Circle Cabalvision Guild hasn't decided yet if we are to comment that game as well. Fans – we'll keep you informed and thank you for watching this entertaining match with us... |
Jim | Thanks, fans! |
Bob | … and now say good bye for the moment! We are Jim Johnson and Bob Bifford for NBCCG and we hope to have you with us in our next match! |
