A fairly good game somewhat marred by a bit of a disagreement prior to it. As expected, Dom usually ran late into the 4th minute of turns as timed by JavaBB - except it isn't an egg timer, is it, as dice choice dialogs stop the timer so I suspect turns were frequently made closer to 5 minutes or more.
So as expected I had to dual task, because staring at a screen for no reason other than waiting for 5 minutes to see if I'm needed for a side step or something is mind numbing and I'd have fallen asleep on the keyboard. I ended up too tired to effectively dual task and made a mess of 2 OTS attempts, the first of which was especially scoreable (failed the last 2+ having made at least 1 unecessary 2+).
Dom notes his awful T1 (and it was diabolically bad block dice albeit nothing worse as no players were taken off the pitch) but after that his rat ogre failed no wild animal rolls, took out 2 gutter runners, and was generally block/foul resistant. You get some good dice and some bad dice, that's how BB goes, and the best coaches ride the bad and capitalize on the good, which is what Dom did and what I didn't do quite so well (aforementioned OTS).
I do hope 1 day soon they fix JavaBB to be a proper egg timer countdown though, because it is really unfair to make an opponent wait 5 minutes at a time almost every single turn. It is quite simply not on, but there's no rule against it so until it is better resolved then it'll be something that gets exploited - and if we know nothing else about online game sites in general it is that there is always players who expoit rules to gain maximum advantage. Clawpomb, turn limits, dice dialogs, whatever it is...
-----How many dice dialogs do you get a turn? How many took up to 10s? The turn in question was at the 3min mark during your decision but ended up at nearly 3:50 as per JavaBB's timing... plus that dialog plus the time for all the other dialogs... it adds up.-----
Anyway, no point arguing about it, you won the tournament fair and square by the rules/implementation. As inconsiderate as I believe consistent slow play to be, it is not technically wrong so that's that.”
