Hawaii kicked for the first, and not a lot to speak about early on. No terrible injuries, not a "LOT" of KOs for Hawaii, but they began to mount for Baylor. A chain-blitz popped the ball into Samson Anguay's hands (during Baylor's turn). A simple blitz took a man off of Ewaliko, and the Nerves of Steel on these guys had Anguay complete a 3-yard pass to Ewaliko, and off to the races we went. Another 1 yard and 2 yard pass down by the Baylor end zone brought the total up to 6 MOAR PASSING YARDS, and we went up 1-0 at the end of 1.
The second half saw us living up to our name.
"We may not always WIN, but we'll always be in the hunt for MOAR YARDS!"
A very deep ball chased Brownholtz all the way back to the 1 yard line, as some Elves jockeyed in front of him for position. Brownholtz rolled a 1 for the original pick-up, so there went our RR for the turn. A 7-yd pass attempt came up accurate, but the usually sure handed Ewaliko snaked the catch, and the ball found the pitch.
From there out, a few bounces here and there until finally, it bounced into the hands of Dobby Humswurt the Snow Troll. He had a difficult time in the first half, as he scored his first CAS in his career and got so caught up in it, he didn't really want to move for the rest of the half. Now was his time to shine.
He managed to get a few paces away from the goal when an heroic blitz came from Lakalaka, uphill, turning up the various choices of pow. The ball bounded out.
Lakalaka then paid for his crimes by destroying his collar bone. The star Blitzer for Baylor, Paul O'Maleh'o, scooped up the ball, and was eventually pushed into the goal by Brownholtz to force the tie.
6 more yards for Hawaii this match.
SAD NOTE: Steve Lakalaka, the promising 2nd year Catcher, was sent to see the world famous collar bone specialist Vaclav E. Cule. He happens to be the same bone doctor that Tony Romo uses, so you KNOW he's good.... Turns out, he has declared that Steve Lakalaka's injury will end his football career. A real shame for the University. Our thoughts go out to his family. He'll always be a Rainbow Warrielf!”
