We received, and registered an early rotter casualty followed by a pestigor KO. Not significant players, but enough to give us a numbers advantage. The numbers evened out quickly but we had already a positional advantage by that point. We managed to stall out, despite giving up a late 2 BD hit on our staller. We were able to surf the blitzer but the crowd didn't want to hurt him :(. We scored on T7 to go up 1-0.
We went into the half up 1-0 playing 11v11. Weather changed to very sunny. A deep kick with the kick skill followed by an early double skull/RR and a failed pick-up put the nurgle team in a bit of a bind. We were able to blitz-open a open in their lines and run-through with two wolves, a ghoul and a zombie. We had each of their players marked other than the pestigor by the ball. On their peel back attempt, they were forced to use their last remaining RR on turn 2. In doing so, they managed to KO one of our wolves and pick up the ball and securing it.
While they had our 4 str wolf covered, we were able to blitz with our flesh golem and push their ball-carrier, blodged with two-heads, extra arms, and foul apperance into our 4 str wolf's TZ, who were able to blitz him, knock him down and kill him... A brutal turn of events for the Nurgle team.
We were able to recover the ball despite relatively heavy traffic by creating some separation and relying on out Ghoul for 1 TZ sure handed pick-up. We were able to score on T4 of the second half to go up 2-0 and more-or-less seal the victory.
We managed a late surf to prevent the long-shot of a come-back, and the crowd definitely made up for their earlier passivism by killing the pestigor.”
