“While a win would have certainly made the occasion all that much more grand, this was a match truly worthy of a player ascending to the title of Legend. Tentaclese Clawson was tasked early with eliminating The Enchanted Forest, a massive Oak with an impressive ST score of 7. Taking his task to heart, Tents uprooted the massive tree on the opening play, to score the first of 4 casualties.
Unfortunately, some issues with ball handling gave the elves an easy steal and stall score, though the nurgle team put up a good fight. In the midst of the flurry, Tentaclese lined up a missile strike, and gored Big Bad Wolf, who had been responsible for the steal, and left the impressively agile War Dancer unable to go on.
The elves still went on to score with time left in the half. The team lined up again, and once more were afflicted with ball handling issues. Despite some great line play, getting Star Pestigor, Neveridie into scoring position, a failed pass ended the chance at a tie, and time expired.
A blitz to start the second half left the elves in disarray. With their numbers dwindling, they were being heavily pressured to force plays. As normally happens, when under too much pressure, elves begin to fail. Once again, ball handling issues plagued the nurgle roster, and it wasn't until a helpful hand from an elf blitz, before Clawhorn finally got a hold of the ball. Without a second thought, he streamed down field behind a wall of ugly for the tying TD.
On the ensuing kick, the speed of the elves proved far too much for the nurgle defense, and with only 3 ticks left on the clock, the elves again took the lead.
It took a relentless stampede down field with great haste for the score to again be tied. After a failed leap by The Gruffalo, Neveridie skipped into the endzone as time expired to tie. There was a brief moment, however, where he almost called on teammate Puitrice to foul the face down war dancer, purely out of respect.
By the end of it, the fans agreed that this game was tied on the horns and claws of Tentaclese, and he was named MVP as his name was forever enshrined in the Hall of Legends.”
