We won the toss and elected to receive. We blitzed Nat Moore on the north end, creating a scrum there, and then ran up the middle with the ball. A lucky hit by J. Anderson took out Brandone Burlsworth early, but we let Da’Kawgo mob the ball-carrier. A both-down on the blitz forced the Kodiaks to burn a Pit Trap card, popping the ball free. We got the ball back and maimed Nat Moore, then re-positioned the ball in Fonoti’s hands in the open, where Morris Claiborne failed a go-for-it getting to him and seriously injured himself. Fonoti ran in the TD for a 1-0 lead. In opposing turn 8, the Kodiaks were obliged to field Helmut Wulf, eating their bribe.

In the second half, the rain started. The Kodiaks went northward, with Helmut taking Brown out of the game. In response, Anderson blitzed and killed Helmut Wulf. The Kodiaks went all out, handing off the ball in the rain, and going for it twice. The second GFI failed, however, and the ball was thrown in, right where Fonoti could get it. We stalled out for too long, however, and Talgrim the Terror killed L. Lundy. Fortunately, the Apothecary saved Lundy, and R. Okung ran in the 2-0 touchdown.”
