We received the opening kick off and got ourselves in trouble early after we snake-eyed a 2+ pass for a TD (pass skill to catch skill). They were able to recover, but we had a fairly easy opportunity to surf their 4 str blitzer who had the ball, but we were forced to use a RR on a 2+ dodge and failed a 2+ gfi.
As they were stalling, we were able to get a 1BD hit on the ball carrier, but we rolled a skull, leading to Prince getting surfed and KOed. Prince stayed KOed for the second half. They did well stalling out without giving us a chance to score, a very poor timed snake-eyes for sure. Admittedly, we could have protected ourselves better by first moving our Blitzer back to where the pass attempt would have been made, in hindsight.
There was not much we could do defensively, as they ensured their 4 str blitzer was the ball carrier and was constantly surrounded by guards which restricted our 4 str leaper's ability to get meaningful hits on the ball-carrier.
We were eventually forced to attempt a -2BD against, which did not work out. After they scored to go up 2-1, we had 4 turns remaining, so while unlikely, we still had the possibility of a comeback, but then a riot pushed the game forward one turn, making that all but impossible.
We managed to add a score, but by then it was too late. We now needed a riot or a blitz to have a chance and neither occurred. Our UI tournament has come to an end. Well-played game by Malmir, although admittedly, his game plan was fairly simple... Get the ball to his 4 str blitzer and surround him with guards to counteract our ability to sack. It was simple, yet effective, as we had no answer for it all game long.
Simply put, this was a game where we needed a few bounces to go our way to win, but instead, they went the other way, and we ended up with a loss.”
