Franck Vonn the owner and Elector of Altdorf kept to his word and ensured his team would be equipped and trained to the max, and his deep coffers financed the presence of the Mighty Morg N'Thorg for this opening match.
Indeed Morg turned out to be worth every golden coin as he single handedly stalled the Boozehound offensive, collected teh ball, rushed up-field and handed off to Logar Pallianburg to score the Eagle's first Touchdown ever....just on the stroke of half time. The Boozehounds were stunned by the awesome power and skill of possibly the greatest Bloodbowl player of all time!
In the second half the Eagles received the ball and Karl Binckard carried it forward under the cover of his team mates, as Morg again started overpowering any Centaur that came his way, forever crippling an Ungor with a mere swipe of his mighty fist. However a moment of drama occurred as Morg suddenly came off second best in a tackle on a lone Centigor allowing the brave Boozehounds the chance to break the cage around the ball carrier and maybe salvage something from the game.
Morg was saved from his embarrassment by the blundering of Blackhoof the Impaler, an over-sized bullock masquerading as a Minotaur....his wild tackle saw him brought low, and the moment was lost. Karl Binckhard raced through the gap, still screened by his colleagues and scored the clinching second touchdown just before the whistle.
Despite the instant success on the field of play against a more experienced team, the Eagles experienced the bitter-sweetness of Bloodbowl as promising young star blitzer Markus Grandhelm was killed in a cynical and vicious kicking by a herd of bovine scum....their fouling of this angelic, cherubic and peace loving star of the future left a bad taste in everyone's mouth, and the word on the street is that next time these sides meet, there will be a stern price to be paid....

Tough game mate, and well played, it never felt like it was a forgone conclusion even in the second half. The key rolls went with me tonight and Morg definitely earned his match fee.
