“With a mighty roar (and various squeaking and squawking sounds) the Deep Caverns league kicked off this evening, with Poshgit's Snotling Daredevils facing off against the Squig herders of Red Crag Redcaps.

The Redcaps received first, but underestimated the unstoppable mobility of a full-speed pump wagon, and lost the ball half-way through the drive. The Daredevils took some risks with the ball after gaining possession, but were nevertheless able to run it into the Redcaps' endzone at the end of the first half.

Things took a turn for the worse for the Daredevils at the start of the second half, as a blitz saw the Redcaps intercepting the ball before the Daredevils had hardly finished their mid-match flossing routine. A bitter fight ensued, at one point during which it seemed like the Redcaps may even be cleared from the pitch - they fought back, however, and a poorly-planned snotling blitz left the Redcaps with a free hand to make a daring passing play to equalise.”
