When Slann are on point with their Leap attempts it is very difficult to protect the ball carrier, and it was just this, coupled with a well timed Chop Block which allowed us to capitalize on a defensive touchdown in the first half. We over-committed with the seven players we had on the pitch in an attempt to stop the equalizer, and somehow (Dodge, Leap, GFI, GFI = 4, 3, 4, 2, Push, RR, POW) we knocked the ball loose. First half closes 1-0.
Second half we used our mucus coating to leap and dodge our way out of sticky situations, include a scrum along the sideline, and make it into the endzone to push our lead up, 2-nil. Once Indianapolis had the ball back, they attempted a pass which was fumbled. A line frog leapt in, picked up the ball, under coverage, dodged out, and threw the ball back towards the necro endzone. 5, 4, 1, RR, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5. This move is known as a "Jeffro", and Mr. Nomad should have rightfully punched us for that. Instead, the wight whom had fumbled the pass in the first place ran and collected the ball and attempted to pass it to an open ghoul. The pass went wide, landed out of bounds, and the fans threw the ball right back to the wight from which the pass originated. The wight caught the ball, and the stands filled with laughter. After a few more woes the Crypts finally crossed the goal line to close the second half.
It looks as though the curse has finally been lifted from Baltimore, as we bring home our first win of the season. Better late than never.”
