The season didn't start well for the Meddlers and it wouldn't end well either. Underdeveloped wood elves are no match for stronger teams. Lack of skills and rerolls hurts too much. Once the only wardancer was out, it was basically game over. At a certain point I had 9 players on the field for a total of 0 skills. Rerolls were long gone too. And a player got injured by a rock again. Guess what happens then...
Nevertheless the wizard threw a decent fireball, opening opportunities. Willow Rosebark performed well enough, almost clearing the ball after a dodge, until (s)he got badly hurt in turn 5.
Like in the previous two games, snakes were killing the game. The problem with snakes is that they often provoke a cascade of bad consequences. After the first snake-eyes I lost a player who got surfed (which wouldn't have happened without the snake) and lost a movement allowance on top of it due to a failing apothecary.
A few turns later the same thing happened after a double skull that ate the team reroll for the turn and a double blockskull one action later. Again a player got surfed as a result, and this time it was the ballcarrier. The first half was lost, despite another ballrecovery that the Meddlers couldn't hold on too and half a decent defensive effort.
The second half started with a rock on an elf, taking him out for the game and the first turn ended with another snaked dodge, taking out that player as well for the rest of the game (and the next one too). Impossible to do something useful with dice like that.
2-0 and another loss.
What's worse, without a second wardancer and a 3rd reroll chances are high that the situation won't change any time soon...
