“The Daredevils' luck finally turned, and the curse laid by the Reik River Kicking Mules so long ago has been lifted!

The Daredevils' came into this match with a heap of inducement money which went on Nobbla and plenty of bribes, and lo and behold, won the toss and were able to receive.

The kick in the first half was a thing of beauty, landing by the Daredevils' endzone - to make matters worse, the crowd invaded the pitch, leaving most of the Daredevils (including both Snotlings in the backfield) downed, and ALL the Drinking Horns unscathed. It was two turns before the Daredevils were able to lay a hand on the ball, and thankfully the Drinking Horns chose to mostly remain in their own half during the scramble.

The Daredevils maintained an uncharacteristically disciplined defence, with three trolls maintaining an impassive wall on the line of scrimmage - turns out they do pretty well when you don't ever ask them to move! - while Nobbla and the two Pump Wagons began laying into the nearest Drinking Horns.

Trikhuf made a brave attempt to steal the ball, but was left isolated and with a fractured leg as a result; however, this action may have saved the half for the Drinking Horns. Although the Daredevils continued to hit hard, they weren't left with enough time for short Snotling legs to have a chance at reaching the endzone. Glog the Mighty attempted to throw Twitch towards the endzone with the ball, but ended up dropping him instead.

The second half started poorly for the Drinking Horns. The kick to them went deep, and the Daredevils made a rapid redeployment that saw them blocking the Drinking Horns' advance. With just eight on the pitch, the Horns were outnumbered.

Some terrible dice and both Pump Wagons on the pitch saw their numbers dwindle further, as the Daredevils advanced. The Bashy But Fast Wun (with advanced grabba teknologee) was able to make a cheeky run at the ballcarrier, dispossessing him of the ball. Obviously frustrated with the situation, and seeing Flinch the Snotling making a beeline for the ball, Breyyar Scoredrinker bravely darted back from the line to make a 2d uphill block against The Bashy But Fast Wun, taking it down and snatching up the ball. Another turn later, and a second block against the Pump Wagon, this time 2d in Breyyar's favour, saw him running down the pitch with the ball! Sadly, hoofs and runny Snotling turds do not mix well, and he took a tumble, losing the ball and then being dispatched by Nobbla.

What followed was a brief bloodbath, with just one Ungor left on the pitch to witness the Flinch run the ball in to make it 1-0 before the final whistle.
