“This was one of those matches where all I could do was shake my head at Nuffle. The game opened with the first of three blitzes against my squad. However, I recovered and marched down to scoring range only to have a series of one die blocks move players and then pop the ball loose. A long pass to the Loner Evander was completed and he made a last move to the endzone to score before the first half ended.
The second half saw dodging line rats and Frank the gutter runner kill himself on a dodge only to have the apothecary come in and confirm that Frank was indeed very dead. Despite decent defense the rats would score again and then get two more consecutive blitzes to make the game a true laugher.
But the apes were not through. The Grape Ape Himself decided to take matters into his own hands. Bigfoot knocked down Evander and the other Black Orcs cleared away the line fodder and set up a gang foul. The Grape Ape delivered a boot to the throat on T16 that killed the uppity Evander and got the Great Grape Ape ejected from the match.
This is one where I look forward to a rematch.
And for the rats I present your first fumbbl badge.

Although the match started with a blitz, the rats couldn't take advantage of it. The typical pattern of players failing easy blocks and gutter runners (this time the short-lived captain Frank Belnap) dying on easy dodges started as usual :-D Therefore, orcs advanced in a cage with ease, towards the customary last turn touchdown.
Surprisingly, when the half was finishing and the orc touchdown was approaching, a couple of complicated blocks on the ball carrier where successful, against all habits and customs of this team! Not only this, but their legendary optimism, leaving a journeyrat Evander Coldbrook (may his soul R.I.P.) waiting for the ball for the odd chance of scoring, payed off for real! A great pick-up and pass of the gutter Sprague de Camp, and Evander scored the 1-0 on the last second of the half.
The orcs were playing a wonderful defense after their kick-off, and the rats were unable to find an easy hole to sneak in. But the score was on their favour, so they thought it wasn't so bad that the time was passing! They managed to defend the ball in their side, every minute closer to their own touchdown line because of the orc's steady pressure.
Only the brave H.P. Lovecraft, muttering something about R'lyeh's protection, ventured in the orc's side of the pitch, waiting for a chance, while being tossed around by two orc blitzers. And again against all odds, a marvellous pass by the ubiquitous Sprage the Camp was cathed by Lovecraft, who scored the 2-0!
The match was about to finish, so it was time to relax a little and think of the after-match cheese. However the rats, who had been trained for the whole previous week following a Paulovian scheme of blitz-and-cheese, blitzed for a second time after the kick-off. Edgar Allan Poe catched the kick, resisted a block and dodged twice for the 3-0!
And then again... a third blitz!!! The coach will surely run out of cheese for these well deserving rats. This time Sprague the Camp picked up the ball for a closing 4-0. Then, all the rats lined up next to their touchdown line to sing a mournful anthem in honor of Frank Belnap, who had died in the first half, and continued singing while the hard-trying Evander was killed with unnecessary violence by surrounding orcs in a last minute foul.
A great match for the rats!!”
