I HATE BLIZZARD!
It messes up the passing game, it stops the tree from gfi, it looks horrible and it even makes me feel cold! Clearly this was a home game for the Black Troopers (Persuas hails from Finland) and they seemed perfectly happy with the weather, stealing the ball off me on offence and running rings around me on their way to scoring their first. Oh yes, and killing two of my players along the way!
The wood elves were clearly riled after that, as on the following drive I took out the entire dark elf front line (two BH's and a KO) in one turn. After that I had two turns of pure luck. The blitz against my ball carrier failed by a single gfi, then the weather changed to that nice green pitch, and then the MA9 dark elf blitzer failed his final gfi to prevent the one-turn score.
Although the second half began normally enough, it soon degenerated into a bit of a playground pushing contest. Persuas had the ball safely tucked away near the endzone and each turn his demon killing machine would blitz whichever one of my players looked like the easiest target. Then, on my turn I would try and do the same, either with the tree when it bothered to stand up, or my tackling wardancer. Unsurprisingly, Persuas was better at it than I was, hence another death for that harvester of souls called Svesith.
Persuas then very kindly scored, leaving me three whole turns to go for a draw (and throw some proper passes along the way). I very nearly messed it up by forgetting one of the dark blitzes had sprint as well as MA9, but again I had the luck and suffered only a pushback...allowing me to long bomb all the way downfield to a catcher in a tackle zone who secured me the draw.
Except that Persuas got the final turn, and had already shown he was capable of one-turning, even against a dedicated anti-OTT defence (although to be fair, my OTT defence is a little on the inadequate side). But the luck, which had stayed with me all game, gave me a perfect defence to scupper even Persuas's careful manoeuvrings.
A good game, if a little painful. I've bought two new linemen for next time, but still don't get to be journeyman-free quite yet. Still, cash, fans and 3 skills makes up for a lot.
Kiitos pelistä, Persuas!”
