While the Warriors had come to the White Isle looking for a battle they are rather inexperienced in this area and were quickly outmanouvered by the Wingers who surrounded their outnumbered foes. Nuffle had been with the Warriors in previous games but abandoned them here as their luck continued to worsen. A stab for the line by Sigmund was more to get distance from the Warriors line. In the ensuing melee McKinley II caught a bouncing ball and headed for the line in a sequence that saw Hugliek cripple one of his own player's strength as he misremembered the instructions for the magic item he had snuck in. He blames tiredness...
The first half ended and saw the Warriors in a deserved 1-0 lead and receiving the ball. They were well set up to defend the incoming blitz that Hugliek's men used to try and even the match a bit. A well constructed offense that dealt handily with the outnumbered Warriors smashing Sigurd's knee and Gouging Ragnar's eye. In the latter case the Warrior's apothecary attempted to fix Ragnar's eye by chopping his head off. Thankfully for Ragnar Hugliek intervened just in time (I am not kidding that apothecary is beyond useless, I am not sure he has ever successfully helped anyone).
With the game out of reach the Warrior's gained some composure and some serious help from the ever fickle Nuffle as their turn 1 plan of Hemming knocking out Quinn was put into action far too late. A decent bit of work ensured a consolation score.”
