So there we were, waiting for the kick-off and one of my fans threw a rock which killed one of Kaze's blitzers. One apo later, and he was reduced to a -MA instead, but that left the elves the whole game to endure with no apo... not a pleasant thought.
And that was just the start. The injuries and deaths came thick and fast after kick-off and after a couple of turns the white of the pitch was turning decidedly pink. In reply, Kaze started getting rid of wood elves, but could only manage KOs time and time again - at one point there were six of them in the box - and it was lucky for him that most of them decided to sit out the rest of the game anyway.
The first half ended 1-1 with Stargate scoring on their final turn. With only half a team available, and with the blizzard still in full force, there was no real chance for a 1-turn TD, so 1-1 it remained as the second half started.
For a few turns, the second half was all about which of our MB blitzers could take the other one out of action first. Kaze won, and the rest of the half was a messy scrabble of opportunity blitzes while the ball was safely down near the endzone. By turn 8 the wood elves had been reduced to a tree and a single catcher - both well away from the danger zone - and the elven union walked the ball in for a turn 8 win.
I don't mind the loss, even though it's now my fourth in a row. I don't even mind the -FF, even though that's my third in a row. But I'm heartily sick of the pass-hampering weather. My new legendary passer threw nothing all game, and the back-up only managed 2 for 10. Where's the fun in that?
And now I have no more free time for a few days, so it'll be next week before I can start chucking the ball again. I'm missing it already.”
