Bri played wonderfully aggressive with an overmatched group of dust and bones. Hack was key on every play in the first quarter... and then whacked himself. But he occupied enough of the Fingers to get position, and even after needing to recover the ball after The Fusion loosed it early - Bone-U-Rama was able to punch it in the beginning of the 2nd quarter.
A spot on kick and a riot left us with 3 turns to score... so of course, we tried to foul off a TG before we messed with the ball. Mudfoot got called out, but I expertly reminded the ref that this was the XFL for Khemri and that fouling was encouraged. Mudfoot went to the reserves and came out the 2nd half with 6 fouls :D
But not before Swamp Lizard crossed himself in the sign of Beelzebub and did a trick spin off move out of the tackle zone of a TG, and sent a perfect pass to The Fusion (6,6,6) for the equalizer. 1-1 at the half.
The 2nd half went south early for the Boners, as the crowd wickedly threw rocks at us both... but only knocked over the Son of Popcorn. The ST6 Tomber, Jim, however... sent to the true death. :'(
Mudfoots six fouls, a barrage of 3D blocks by the Fingers... even a Mickey Finn given to Swamp Lizard at the half didn't dampen the drive and the near pitch clear. Swampy almost forgot to score in regulation, but luckily was able to shake it off and spike the ball in the endzone for the game winner.
Well played, Bri - I just got numbers on you and was relentless. A couple of those dice rolls don't go my way and you squeak out the victory. Thanks for the game.”
