I've had the Lamb & Beef Gyro, Lamb Schwarma Sandwich, Mr Gyro Salad, Lamb Schwarma Plate, and Greek Fries. All are very good.
The Gyros are very flavorful. The meat is well season and it's tender, it's not tough (something that I've encountered at a number of gyro shops). You can tell that the meat doesn't sit for hours, there's a lot of turn over, and you can taste the seasoning. The yogurt sauce, vegetables, etc make it fresh to offset the meat and the pitas that they use are very soft. It's a very flavorful and filling gyro at a reasonable price.
The Schwarma Sandwich is also the same case, but the Lamb Schwarma just elevates it to another level. While Lamb tends to have a very distinct flavor, the flavor of the Schwarma is so mild by comparison to normal lamb. I don't know how they cook it/prepare it, but it's super mild. Also, it comes in chunks, as opposed to the shaved meat on a gyro. It looks like it was cooked on a kebab. The lamb is tender, juicy and super flavorful.
The Mr Gyro salad is also very good. The amount of food that you get for the price is honestly surprising. I wanted a light gyro salad and I got way more than I expected, and I'm not complaining. The cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and other vegetables provided a nice freshness to the salad that countered the meat very well. The yogurt sauce is super flavorful as well. It's honestly a great gyro salad. It comes with pita as well, which is overkill - but again, I'm not complaining. If you want the flavor, minus all the carbs, this is a great option. It's very good.
The Lamb Shwarma plate is hands down my favorite dish at Mr Gyro, and it's not even close. Like I said before, the lamb shwarma is delicious. The lamb is succulent, tender, and juicy - but firm so there is a nice texture to it. It's very flavorful too. The lamb shwarma lacks the typical lamb flavor or "gaminess." It's a very mild lamb flavor, if you're not a fan of lamb - I would argue to try this at least once to see if it can't change your mind. The dish comes with rice, which is very light and a nice pairing with the lamb, as well as a small salad that is so refreshing. There's also hummus and pita as well. The hummus is fresh and creamy. The plate delivers across all levels. It's super balanced and filling.
The Greek Fries are good, nothing special. If you like french fries and/or feta, you'll like it. As someone who loves fresh, hand cut fries - it's not my favorite french fry, but it's not bad. I personally won't get it again, but I don't think you'll regret ordering it.
Beyond the food the service is excellent. I've been to all 3 (well now 2) locations and all the employees are super nice. Whenever I come in they greet me, ask how I'm doing, and talk to me about my life. It's almost like I'm a regular or a close friend. It's nice and welcoming. The customer service alone is a reason that I'd keep supporting Mr Gyro if the food weren't AS good - but the food is excellent so it makes it easy to go.
The only real con is the decor/seating. If you're looking for a nice, sit-down place then you're probably going to be shocked at how bare-bones it is. It's just tables and stools, nothing fancy.
I love this place and I recommend checking it out if you love Gyros and/or want a quick bite.”
